Cutting Boards

This is a representative grouping of cutting boards.  These boards can be made from numerous species of wood in many different arrangements.  Each board is handmade using foodsafe and waterproof glue.  After the glue cures, the edges are rounded and all surfaces are sanded smooth.  Finally, a foodsafe mixture of natural oils and waxes are applied to preserve and protect the wood from moisture.

Cutting boards need to be maintained using mineral oil or a butcher block conditioner.  These products can be found in grocery stores, Home Depo, and/or Lowes.

Face Grain Boards:  These are the easiest to make as they utilize the broad face of the wood.  They show scratches easily.

Edge Grain Boards:  This type of cutting board utilizes several strips of wood turned on the edge and glued together.  The edge is tougher and this method brings a greater variety pattern arrangement.

End Grain Boards:  These require a little more work but are the best quality.  They show scratches less than any other type and knife edges do not dull as quickly compared to other board use.
